The semi-cingolate Sd.Kfz. 250 was widely used by German mechanized troops during World War II. Developed on the technical “lay-out” of the Sd.Kfz.10 artillery tractor, it had to be a flexible reliable solution to integrate infantry movements with armored troops. The Sd.Kfz. 250 was armed with one or two MG34 7.92mm machine guns and could carry, with a good level of protection, a 4-man infantry team on the battlefield. The vehicle's appreciation was the basis for the development of numerous variants including the 250/3 version Leichter Funkpanzerwagen (light armored vehicle for radio connections), used as a nerve center of radio connection between advanced troops, artillery and aeronautics. Famous the “Greif” used by Erwin Rommel in North Africa as a real advanced command post in close contact with the troops on the front line.
